Meet Amanda

Amanda Mortenson, MFTI Pre-Licensed Professional

Amanda Mortenson is a Marriage & Family Therapist Intern, wife, and mom to four kids who knows firsthand what it feels like to be busy, burnt out, and quietly disconnected from the person you love most. Through her own journey of healing and reconnection, she discovered that strong marriages don't happen by accident. They happen on purpose.

Now she helps couples cut through the noise of everyday life and find their way back to each other through research-backed tools, honest conversation, and a whole lot of heart.

Working Together, One-on-One

I work with couples, individuals, and adults using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — a science-based approach that gets underneath the argument to the emotions actually driving it.

Couples Therapy

Break the cycle you keep repeating. Rebuild trust, safety, and the sense that you're on the same team again.

Individual Therapy

Anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, or the quiet sense that something needs to change.

Premarital & Repair

Start strong, or come back from a betrayal or rupture that left you unsure where to go next.

What Couples Are Saying

From couples who have attended a Building Lasting Connections seminar.

“My husband and I really enjoyed this workshop and found it incredibly helpful. We learned so much about communicating more effectively. I personally learned how to be a better active listener and how to understand where my emotions and conflict reactions are coming from. We have already been using the tools we're learning, and we've noticed they've been helpful not only in our marriage but also when dealing with conflict with our teenagers. Amanda Mortenson is an engaging and knowledgeable therapist and educator. She is funny, approachable, and did an excellent job of creating a comfortable environment where it felt safe to learn and grow. I would highly recommend this workshop to any couple looking to strengthen their relationship.”

“My husband and I took Lasting Connection with Amanda Mortenson, and it was truly one of the most valuable things we've done for our marriage. The course material was thoughtful, engaging and deeply encouraging. It made us think about marital issues on a different level. Amanda presented in a way that was relatable with where the couples are, whether they're struggling or just wanting to strengthen an already solid marriage. Amanda teaches with both warmth and wisdom. She has such a natural ability to create a safe place where we all felt comfortable being honest and reflective. My husband and I finished the Saturday feeling more connected, more understood, and most importantly more intentional about our relationship. I would highly recommend this course to any couple who wants to invest in their marriage and gain meaningful tools that will help both now and in the long term.”
