Meet Amanda: Seminar Leader for Real Life

Amanda Mortenson

My Story

Amanda Mortenson, MFTIPre-Licensed Professional, MFTI

I'm Amanda, a Marriage & Family Therapist Intern, wife, and mom to four kids who knows firsthand what it feels like to be busy, burnt out, and quietly disconnected from the person you love most. Through my own journey of healing and reconnection, I discovered that strong marriages don't happen by accident. They happen on purpose.

Today I see couples, individuals, and adults in my St. George office using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and I facilitate Building Lasting Connections seminars for groups. Because the best thing you can give your family is a great marriage.

My Philosophy

I believe strong marriages don't happen by accident. They happen on purpose. And the best thing you can give your family is a great marriage.

That's why I take a practical, heart-first approach through Building Lasting Connections seminars, combining research-backed tools, honest conversation, and real-life strategies that help couples cut through the noise and find their way back to each other.

Who I Serve

I work with couples, parents, women's groups, and communities who want sustainable change: calmer homes, deeper connection, and practical skills that work in real life.

If you're tired of quick fixes and shame-based advice, if you're ready to do the work but need someone to walk alongside you, if you want tools that actually fit into your real life, you're in the right place.

My Credentials & Experience

Pre-Licensed Professional, MFTI — practicing under supervision

Amanda is a Marriage & Family Therapist Intern completing her clinical internship, which means she works under the direct supervision of Dr. Debi Gilmore, an EFT expert and certified EFT supervisor (Utah license 8520440-3902).

In practice, that means you get two clinicians thinking about your case: Amanda in the room with you, and an experienced supervisor reviewing the work behind the scenes.

Verified by Psychology Today

Amanda's practice is listed in the Psychology Today directory, an independently verified network of therapists and mental health professionals.
